Competition Entry Terms and Conditions

By entering a competition organised by The Unit, all athletes agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Organiser

All competitions are organised and run by The Unit.

2. Eligibility

All competitors must be 18 years of age or over on the day of the competition. Proof of age may be requested.

3. Entry Fees and Refunds

Entry fees are non-guaranteed refundable.
Refunds may be issued on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of The Unit.
Submitting an entry does not guarantee a refund if an athlete is unable to compete.

4. Transfers of Entry

Entries may be transferred to another athlete only, provided The Unit is notified in good time before the competition.
Entries cannot be transferred to another competition or future event.
The Unit reserves the right to refuse late or unapproved transfer requests.

5. Event Changes

The Unit reserves the right to change events, event order, weights, formats, running times, or schedules if required for safety, logistics, or operational reasons.
Such changes do not automatically entitle an athlete to a refund.

6. Event Cancellation

If a competition is cancelled by The Unit, refunds will be issued as soon as reasonably possible.

7. Health and Fitness

All athletes compete entirely at their own risk.
By entering, competitors confirm they are medically fit, physically prepared, and capable of taking part in strongman competition.

8. Injury and Liability

The Unit accepts no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained before, during, or after the competition, except where liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
Athletes are responsible for their own insurance and personal safety.

9. Rules and Judging

All lifts, events, and performances are subject to the rules set on the day.
 The Head Judge’s decision is final, and no appeals will be accepted.

10. Photography and Media

Photographs and videos may be taken during the event.
 By entering, athletes grant permission for this media to be used by The Unit for promotion, marketing, and reporting purposes, without compensation.

11. Conduct and Behaviour

The Unit reserves the right to remove any athlete for unsafe behaviour, abuse, unsportsmanlike conduct, or failure to follow instructions.
Removal under this clause will not result in a refund.

12. Data Protection

Personal data provided during entry will be used solely for competition administration and communication, in line with UK data protection laws.

13. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
