Terms & Conditions

Fortis Gym Competition Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a competitor entry or spectator ticket for this event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance

These Terms & Conditions apply to all competitors, spectators, coaches and attendees. By completing your purchase, you agree to abide by these Terms throughout the event.

2. Entries & Ticket Sales

  • All competitor entries and spectator tickets are subject to availability.

  • Your place is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

  • The organiser reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry where reasonably necessary.

3. Refunds & Transfers

All competitor entries and spectator tickets are strictly non-refundable.

Refunds will not be issued for, including but not limited to:

  • Injury or illness

  • Personal circumstances

  • Travel disruption

  • Work or family commitments

  • Failure to attend

  • Incorrect category selection

  • Disqualification

  • Adverse weather (unless the event is cancelled by the organiser)

Entry transfers to another competitor may only be permitted with the organiser's prior written approval and before the published entry deadline.

If the organiser cancels the event entirely, an alternative date, event credit or refund may be offered at the organiser's discretion and in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

4. Event Changes

The organiser reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event at any time, including but not limited to:

  • Event disciplines

  • Event weights

  • Running order

  • Timetable

  • Venue

  • Categories

  • Officials or referees

Such changes may be made where necessary for safety, fairness or operational reasons.

5. Competitor Responsibilities

By entering, competitors confirm that:

  • They meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen category.

  • They are medically fit and physically capable of taking part.

  • They understand the risks associated with strength sports.

  • They participate entirely at their own risk.

  • They will follow all instructions given by referees, loaders, volunteers and event staff.

Failure to comply with event rules or staff instructions may result in penalties, disqualification or removal from the event without refund.

6. Safety

Safety is the organiser's highest priority.

The organiser reserves the right to refuse participation or remove any competitor or spectator whose behaviour is considered:

  • Unsafe

  • Aggressive

  • Abusive

  • Threatening

  • Disruptive

  • Intoxicated

No refund will be issued in these circumstances.

7. Liability

Competitors participate and spectators attend entirely at their own risk.

The organiser accepts no responsibility for:

  • Personal injury (except where caused by organiser negligence)

  • Loss, theft or damage to personal belongings

  • Damage to vehicles or property

  • Travel or accommodation costs

  • Any indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

8. Photography & Media

Photography and video recording will take place throughout the event.

By attending, competitors and spectators grant Fortis Gym and its authorised partners permission to use photographs, video and audio recordings for:

  • Social media

  • Websites

  • Promotional material

  • Marketing

  • Press coverage

  • Future event advertising

No payment or further consent will be required.

Anyone with safeguarding or privacy concerns should notify the organiser before the event begins.

9. Spectator Conduct

Spectators must:

  • Follow instructions from event staff.

  • Remain behind safety barriers where provided.

  • Not enter competition areas unless authorised.

  • Supervise children at all times.

  • Treat competitors, officials and volunteers with respect.

Anyone behaving in an unsafe or abusive manner may be removed without refund.

10. Competitor Categories

Competitors are responsible for entering the correct category.

The organiser reserves the right to:

  • Verify eligibility.

  • Move competitors into an appropriate class where necessary.

  • Combine, split or amend categories if required due to entry numbers.

11. Force Majeure

The organiser shall not be liable for cancellation, postponement or interruption caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, venue closure, government restrictions, industrial action, power failure or other unforeseen events.

12. Data Protection

Personal information collected during registration will only be used for:

  • Event administration

  • Competition communications

  • Results and rankings

  • Emergency contact purposes

  • Legal and insurance requirements where applicable

Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

13. Community Standards

Fortis Gym is committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment for everyone regardless of age, sex, disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation or abusive behaviour towards competitors, officials, volunteers or spectators will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

14. Decisions

The decisions of the Event Director, Head Referee and appointed officials are final.

Unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating or behaviour that brings the event into disrepute may result in disqualification.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.


Competitor & Spectator Declaration

By purchasing an entry or spectator ticket, you confirm that:

  • You have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

  • You understand that all entries and tickets are non-refundable except where required by law.

  • Competitors acknowledge the inherent risks involved in strength sports and choose to participate voluntarily.

  • Spectators acknowledge that strength sports involve heavy equipment and agree to remain within designated spectator areas and follow all safety instructions.

  • You agree to comply with all instructions given by event officials and staff throughout the event.
