This is a beginner/first timer fun and friendly strength competition. (Not for Roid heads)

There are 5 fitness events to take part in. 

The competition is on Sunday 27th April 2025, at the Palmarsh Primary School, Hythe (CT21 6NE) 

Categories:

Women: Novice Under 75kg and Over 75kg

Men: Novice Under 95kg & Over 95kg

**ON THE DAY WEIGH INS**

There are 10 spaces available in each category, so sign up early!

It’s all about having a great time and enjoying the challenge.


EVENT 1:

Barbell Floor To Overhead

Dual Dumbbell Floor To Overhead

Women U75: BB - 30kg / DB - 15kg

Women O75: BB - 40kg / DB - 20kg

Men U95: BB - 50kg / DB - 22.5kg

Men O95: BB - 60kg / DB - 27.5kg 

You have 60 seconds to do as many reps as possible.

You’ll do one rep at a time of two different exercises:

1. Barbell Floor to Overhead: Lift the barbell from the floor to above your head. Once it’s steady, wait for a signal to lower it.

2. Dual Dumbbell Floor to Overhead: Use two dumbbells to lift from the floor to above your head.

Keep switching between these two exercises. One rep of each, as quickly as you can until time runs out.


EVENT 2:

Deadlift Ladder

Women U75: 70, 80, 90, 100kg

Women O75: 90, 100, 110, 120kg

Men U95: 100, 110, 120, 140kg

Men O95: 130, 140, 150, 170kg 

You have 60 seconds time CAP. 

There will be 4 bars set up in a row, each heavier than the last. 

Your goal is to deadlift each weight from ground to a full lockout position. 

Start with the lighest weight and move to the next one after completing the lift. 

Keep going down the line, lifiting each bar, until you either finish the ladder or can’t lift the next weight. 

The goal is to deadlift the 4 bars as quick as possible. 


EVENT 3:

Sandbag Carry 30m Into

Farmer Carry 30m

Women U75: SB - 40kg / FC - 30kg Per Hand

Women O75: SB - 50kg / FC - 40kg Per Hand

Men U95: SB - 60kg / FC - 50kg Per Hand 

Men O95: SB - 80kg / DB - 60kg Per Hand

In this event, you have 60 seconds to complete the following as quickly as possible: 

  • Sandbag Carry for 15 meters, turn around and carry back 15 meters. 
  • Immediately pick up the farmer’s carry weights and carry them 15 meters, then drop, turn and carry them back 15 meters. 

The goal is to complete everything as fast as you can within the time limit. 


EVENT 4:

Sandbag Over Bar Into 

Arm Over Arm 15m

Women U75: SB Loading - 30, 35, 40kg / Sled - 80kg

Women O75: SB Loading - 40, 50, 60kg / Sled - 100kg

Men U95: SB Loading - 50, 60, 70kg / Sled - 130kg

Men O95: SB Loading - 70, 80, 90kg / Sled - 160kg

**Sled may change due to weather, if we have it outside or inside. 

In this event, you have 60 seconds to do the following as fast as possible: 

  • Lift 3 sandbags and throw them over a bar, one at a time. 
  • Once all 3 sandbags are over, move straight into an arm-over-arm pull the sled 15 metres until it crosses the line. 

The goal is to finish both tasks as quickly as you can before time runs outs. 


EVENT 5:

MYSTERY EVENT!!

A mystery event is a surprise event that won’t be revealed until the day of the competition. 

You won’t know what it is ahead of time, so you can’t prepare for it specifically. It could be anything, strength, endurance or a mix of both!

The idea is to test your adaptability and have fun with the unexpected. 

Get ready for the unknown and give it your best.

Full weight breakdown will be revealed soon! But for now get your entries in. 10 Spaces in each category. Each person will be given a competition t-shirt, in the entry form you’ll pop your t-shirt size in.

Check in times

When you arrive everyone must check in, make sure you do this at the weigh in desk with Leesh. Check in times start from 7:30AM till 8:30AM 


Weigh in times. 

ONLY Women U75kg and Men U95kg will have to weigh in. Weigh in and check in times is from 7:30am till 8:30AM. You'll do this at the check in/weigh in desk with Leesh. 


Competition tops

You’ll be given your top at check in/weigh in. And must be worn throughout the day as it showcases our sponsors for the event. 


Event details and rules

1. Barbell GTOH into Dumbbell GTOH

  • 60 seconds time limit 
  • You have to start with the Barbell. 
  • Lift the barbell from the floor to above your head. Once it’s steady, wait for a signal to lower it.
  •  You’ll shuffle to the right to the Dual Dumbbell Floor to Overhead: Use two dumbbells to lift from the floor to above your head, once it’s steady, wait for a signal to lower it. 
  • Keep switching between these two exercises. One rep of each, as quickly as you can until time runs out.
  • Knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, chalk and belts are all allowed.

-The farmer carry handles must break the line.

-Knee, elbow sleeves, chalk and belts are allowed.

-Must be carried to the front, no shouldering

-Lift 3 sandbags starting with the lightest and throw them over a bar, one at a time.

-Once all 3 sandbags are over, move straight into an arm-over-arm pull the sled 15 metres until it crosses the line.

-Chalk, elbow and knee sleeves allowed. Belts allowed too.

In this will list venue location, parking options, where you need to go, how the day will run and what's available on the day. 

Side note: Spectators are more than welcome, friends, family, kids and dogs. Just make sure if anyone is bringing a dog, it's kept on a lead at all times :)

Parking Options

Option 1: The school car park 

You can fit around 30 cars in here. 

Option 2 - The main road behind the traffic lights

Just before you turn into the housing estate there’s traffic lights, picture below. Where I have circled, you can park all along there. You can park all the way up this road.

(Just make sure you leave room for the residents to get out of their driveways, don’t block people in. etc)

ENTRANCE 

Once you’ve parked, you’ll come through this white door (shown below). Walk straight up the hallway and you’ll walk into the hall, which is where you can keep your bags, get weighed in etc.

(you’ll collect your comp day tops. Which MUST be worn for the events)

9:00AM: Athlete briefing. Mystery event announced. 

9:15AM: Warm Up Start

9:30AM: Group 1 will start Event 1. One person from each category will be going at a time. 

10:00AM: Group 2 will start Event 1. One person from each category will be going at a time. 

10:30AM: Group 1 will kick off event 2

11:00AM: Group 2 - Event 2

11:30AM: Group 1 - Event 3

12:00PM: Group 2 - Event 3
