Clutton's Strongest Man and Woman. 12th August 2023 at the Clutton Flower and Country Show. Competitions start at 1pm. £500 for the first person to lift the Clutton Stone overhead! Cluttons Strongest will be taking place at the 2023 Clutton Flower and Country Show on the 12th August 2023 with the first event starting at 1pm.
Both men and women can enter, and we will have various weight categories. If enough over 50’s enter then we will also add a masters category. Each winner will receive 2 litres of locally produced cider and a sack of veg. No fee to enter Clutton's Strongest.
All competitors are also welcome to stay the night before and the night of the event free of charge at Dagger Wood Campsite https://daggerwoodcampsite.co.uk/. For further information or to register email [email protected].
Entry to the Show costs £2.50 (no additional fee to enter the competition). Ample parking will be available at either the campsite or the Show.
The weight categories for the men will be under 90kg / under 105kg / 105kg +. For women it will be under 65kg / under 75kg / 75kg +
In each event, 1st place will receive 30 points, 2nd place 20 points, and 3rd place 10 points unless otherwise specified.
The events will be as follows;
- Deadlift for maximum reps in 60 seconds (men: u90 140kg / u105 180kg / 105+ 200kg women: u65 60kg / u75 80kg / 75+ 90kg )
- Vegetable sack loading medley: each competitor will have to load 2 sacks of potatoes, carrots, and then onions into a wheelbarrow in the quickest time possible. 2 sacks must be carried at the same time and each ways 20kg.
- Staw bale overhead press: 3 bales will have to be pressed overhead in the fastest time possible. Each bale will weigh approximately 50kg for male competitors / 25kg for female competitors.
- Shovel crucifix hold: each competitor will have to hold 2 shovels weighing around 10kg with outstretched arms.
-Tractor tyre flip: fastest time over 20 metres. Female competitors tyre will weigh approximately 150kg and male competitors tyre will weigh approximately 250kg.
- Extra points 120kg Clutton Stone challenge: 10 points for clearing the stone from the ground / 20 points to chest / 30 points for shouldering. Open to all competitors, male or female.
We will also introduce for the first time this year our £500 cash prize to be the first person to ever press the Clutton Stone overhead. Will any of our brave strength competitors take on this mighty challenge?
