Log & Axle Floor to Overhead

Event 1: Log & Axle Press for Repetitions

The opening event is an overhead pressing medley designed to test strength, endurance and efficiency under fatigue.

Competitors will have 70 seconds to complete as many successful repetitions as possible, alternating between a log and an axle. Athletes must complete one successful repetition on the log before moving to the axle, and then continue alternating between the two implements for the duration of the time limit.

The implements will be loaded to:

Men: 90kg Log & 90kg Axle Women: 45kg Log & 45kg Axle

Each successful repetition will count towards the athlete's score.

Elbow sleeves, wrist wraps and grip shirts/tops are permitted.

Further details regarding commands, pressing standards, cleaning rules and judging criteria will be included in the full rules pack released before the competition.

Elbow sleeves, wrist wraps and grip shirts/tops allowed.

Sandbag Medley

Event 3: Sandbag Medley

The third event will be a fast-paced sandbag medley designed to test athleticism, conditioning and the ability to perform under fatigue.

Rather than focusing on a single movement, this event will combine a variety of classic sandbag disciplines into one flowing medley. Competitors can expect a fun challenge that rewards speed, efficiency and determination as much as outright strength.

The full event format, including weights, movements and rules, will be announced alongside our upcoming event sponsorship announcement.

As with every event at MACSimum Effort, the aim is to create a competitive but accessible challenge that allows every athlete to enjoy the experience while still separating the field.

5 Stone Run

Event 5: Five Stone Run

The final event is the ultimate test of determination, conditioning and finishing strength.

Competitors will have 70 seconds to load five atlas stones as quickly as possible. Athletes who complete all five stones within the time limit will be ranked by the fastest time, while those who do not will be ranked according to the number of successful loads completed.

The specific stone weights and loading heights will be announced alongside our upcoming event sponsorship announcement.

As the final event of the day, the Five Stone Run is designed to provide an exciting finish to the competition, rewarding athletes who can maintain their composure and performance after four demanding events. Full rules, equipment specifications and judging standards will be released closer to the competition.

Farmers into Yoke

Event 4: Farmers Walk into Yoke

The penultimate event is a classic moving medley, combining grip strength, speed and composure under fatigue.

Competitors will carry Farmers Handles for 15 metres, transition immediately to the Yoke, and complete a further 15 metres against the clock.

The proposed weights are:

Men: 80kg per hand Farmers, into a 220kg Yoke Women: 50kg per hand Farmers, into a 140kg Yoke

These weights are provisional and may be subject to a small increase following consultation with competitors and the wider strongman community before the final rules pack is published.

The aim is to strike the right balance between accessibility and challenge, ensuring the event rewards athleticism and consistency while remaining appropriate for a novice competition.

Full rules, course layout, equipment specifications and any confirmed weight adjustments will be announced closer to the competition.
