Event Rules:
Deadlift for reps.
Straps, belts, chalk allowed. Athletes will start away from the first bar. When the event commences athletes will move to the first bar, lifting it up and waiting for a "down" command from their referee before putting the bar down and moving onto the next. Dropping the bars is not permitted and the athlete will have to repeat the lift.
Bars will be split-timed. Fastest to lift X amount of bars will win. In order to recover a "down" command, athletes will need knees and hips locked out and be stood fully upright. 60s time limit.
Viking Press for Reps.
Belts, wrist wraps, knee and elbow sleeves allowed. Athletes must face outwards and hold onto the lateral part of the handle. Push presses are permitted, but athletes must not "double dip" or jerk the reps. I.e. you cannot re-bend your knees after the initial push press.
Athletes will receive a "down" command from their referee once they have pressed the handles overhead and have fully locked elbows with their head through, looking at the ref. In order for the next rep to be legitimate, athletes must bring the handles down to chin level. 60s time limit.
Frame into Egg and Spoon.
Wrist wraps, sleeves, chalk, belts are allowed. Athletes will start at one end of a 20m course and pickup and carry their frame one length. Then they will transition to the "egg and spoon". This will be picked up with hands between the white tape. No picking up with your front hand on the tape, it must be behind.
If any athlete drops the egg, they must stop where it was dropped and reload the egg into their spoon before repicking and continuing.
No split times for frame, only for the whole course. Fastest to finish wins. Implements must break the lines at either end (don't have to be fully across). 60s time limit.
Sandbag Steeplechase.
Sleeves, belts, grip tops, chalk permitted. Athletes will have to take two sandbags across a 20m course. Starting with the lighter bag, athletes will move halfway along the course and load their bag over a yoke (44" tall for women, 48" tall for men). Athletes will then return to the start line and do the same with their heavier bag.
Once the heavier bag is loaded, the athlete will take their lighter bag and drop it at the end of the 20m course, before returning and doing the same with the heavier bag.
No split times and no changing the order of which bags are carried. Fastest time to compete the course wins. 90s time limit.
Flipper for reps.
Belts, sleeves and wrist wraps allowed. Athletes will pickup and flip the implement before running around to the other side and flipping back the other way. Athletes must pickup the implement in the manner shown in the video, from the end of the flipper. Most flips wins. 75s time limit.
