Starting weights are;
W1st timers 30kg
W Novice 40kg
M Novice 70kg
M Inters 90kg
60 seconds to complete the rep, multiple attempts are allowed within the 60 seconds.
Split jerks are allowed.
Deadlift reps in 60 secs
W 1st Timers 80kg
W Novice 100kg
M Novice 180kg
M Inters 220kg
The referee will give a down signal when the shoulders are back and hips are locked out. Failing to wait for the signal will mean that rep is disallowed.
Straps, belts and sleeves are allowed, deadlift suits are NOT allowed.
Farmers into Yoke
W1st Timers 40kg per hand/100kg.
W Novice 55kg per hand/100kg
M Novice 80kg per hand/200kg
M Inters 100kg per hand/280kg
The Farmers handles will be carried 15m. Once the Farmers Handles are over the line the ref will give a signal indicating she/he is satisfied. The athlete will then pick up the Yoke and carry it the 15m back again clearing the line to the referee’s satisfaction.
Hammer Hold for time.
W1st Timers 9kg
W Novice 9kg
M Novice 15kg
M Inters 17.5kg.
Competitors must hold the hammer with arms fully extended parallel to floor and maintain contact with the wall at their upper back and bum. When either the hands drop below parallel, bum or upper back comes away from the wall the timer is stopped. Longest hold wins.
Stone over 46” yoke reps in 60secs
W1st Timers 40kg
W Novice 60kg
M Novice 100kg
M Inters 130kg
Tacky allowed. The rep is complete once the stone passes over the yoke fully and gravity has taken over.
The head referees decision is final. Any harassment or attempted intimidation of referees or event staff will result in disqualification
All weights and events are subject to revision at the organisers discretion.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each category gets a trophy.
There is also a trophy for the grafter of the day; this is for hard work regardless of placing AND good sportsmanship. This will be decided by the SoA crew/referees.

The competition organisers retain the right to decline competitors and will do so for those attempting to enter in a category they do not qualify for (trophy hunters).
First timers are those who’ve NEVER competed in a Strongman/woman competition before with no exceptions for those who’ve ’had a break/been injured/gran’s been poorly’.
Novice is defined as having competed 3 or less times and has not attained a podium position.
Inters are defined as having never podiumed at Inters or Opens level.
Payments are non-refundable or transferable. The only exception to this is in the unlikely event that the competition is cancelled whereupon a full refund will be given.
