Entry fee £35.00 per competitor

A valid WHEA licnese must be held. Deadlines for registering for a license for all competitors is on 31st January 2025.

The Unit Strength & Conditioning is proud to host WHEA GB Scottish Championships, for the male athletes on Saturday 15th February 2025 and female athletes on Sunday 16th February 2025.

The athletes will take on 6 events to be crowned with 3 of the top athletes for each category automatically qualifying to compete at the British finals in North England on Saturday 6th July 2025. WHEA GB will increase the number of qualifying spots by category  and competitors. If there are 10 competitors in your category, the top 4 will receive a qualifying place at the British Championships. If there are 15+ competitors in your category the top 5 will receive a qualifying place at the British Championships.

Ticket sales end on 31st January 2025 and no further entries will be available.

Requirements:

  • Competitors must have obtained a license from World Heavy Events Association, all information about this is available here and this is available to purchase through January 2025 only. All licenses will be checked and if you have failed to obtain an appropriate license then you will not be allowed to compete.
  • Please familiarise yourself with the testing standards and banned substances as detailed on WADA's prohibited list for 2025. Testing in and out of competition occurs and you must remain compliant as part of your license agreement. Please uphold the integrity of the federation. Failure to do so may result in sanctions.
  • Athletes competing within a weight class will have an opportunity to weigh in 24 hours prior to their competition or on the morning of (times will be confirmed in advance) and competitors must weigh in at the weight category or below. E.g. those competing in under 100kg must weigh 100.0kg or less. Failure to make weight will result in competitors having to compete in the higher weight class or forfeiting their entry.

  • Juniors (18-20 years)
  • under 85kg
  • under 100kg
  • Opens (100kg+)
  • Masters (40+)


Women's Categories:

  • Juniors (18-20 years)
  • under 65kg
  • under 75kg
  • Opens (75kg+)
  • Masters (40+)

Event one: Max 18" Deadlift

Event two: Overhead medley (1 rep on barbell, 2 reps on monster DB - one each arm, 3 reps on axle)

Event three: Axle squat for reps in 60 seconds.

Event four: Farmers carry for max distance in 45 seconds.

Event five: Max distance sandbag throw.

Event six: Max stone over yoke.

Photographer: There will be a professional photographer on site across the competition - how to obtain images will be released in due course.
